In the first quarter of 2025 we have tracked the following senior appointments and internal promotions based on analysis of 136 moves tracked
In the first quarter of 2025, 67 appointments (49%) were recruited internally and 69 externally (51%). If looking at the breakdown by month, there's a clear downward trend over the quarter, a strong start in January, which is usually expected at the start of a new year with a drop-off in February and March, in part the NI change certainly did not help with new hires prior to April.
Comparing industry sectors with Q4 2024, appointments within the Technology sector have decreased dramatically from 40.7% down to 19.2%, we have observed considerable increases in both the Financial Services and Manufacturing sectors.
- The Services sector represents DOWN to 13.7% of the total appointments.
- Financial Services UP at 19.2%
- Housing Associations and other NFP DOWN at 6.8%
- Manufacturing UP at 11%
- Retail and Travel combined UP to 9.6%
- Utilities UP to 6.2%
