Contact Centre Homeworking
1 May 2012Enterprise social networks are changing the employee and customer engagement landscape
12 June 2012We don’t know if it is just us but there seems to be a fair amount of positivity and excitement in the air at the moment; perhaps it is the arrival of summer with temperatures predicted in the mid 20’s for later this week (Hurrah). It also seems that many people, ourselves included, are excited to see the Olympic torch arrive in the UK and are looking forward to the Olympics later on this year. Wherever you turn there are union jacks with many
plans and celebrations afoot for Her Majesty the Queen’s 60th Anniversary and the Jubilee weekend just a few weeks away (The bunting has gone up at #DJHQ in preparation for ours). As a nation we have a lot to be proud of and let’s hope that we have plenty more to celebrate over the summer and the games, but do we as individuals celebrate our own success enough?
Working with and supporting the customer service and contact centre industry we certainly feel that our industry does an awful lot to champion best practice and success with various awards, league tables, events and business forums to get involved with. However, as individuals it is easy to lose sight of your own personal performance in view of a wider goal. Since it is individuals who collectively will bring any business or team success, the ability to evaluate and assess your own, or your teams’ short or long term goals and to celebrate both your own and their success are key to achieving. Even if a project or strategy hasn’t quite worked out how you hoped, with a closer look, there will no doubt be many reasons to celebrate. These celebrations will help give you or your team the encouragement to continue, or try again and help build confidence and the ability to sustain enthusiasm, drive and commitment which delivers success in the long term.
Celebrations don’t have to be on a grand scale, like hiring an open topped double decker bus (well done to Chelsea FC by the way). Instead a post, or mention on Facebook or Twitter, giving yourself an hour off, or going for a team drink or meal, are all just as effective in marking an accomplishment before moving on to the next task or goal.
So as we all raise a glass for the Jubilee and cheer on our Olympic athletes, what will you be doing to celebrate your success? Do let us know as we are always looking for new ideas and to feature your stories as well.
