In the second quarter of 2025 we have tracked the following senior appointments and internal C-suite and Director level promotions based on analysis of 221 appointments.
In the second quarter of 2025, 59% were internal promotions, up by 10% on 2024 numbers (49%), leaving only 39% external appointments.
Technology hiring has once agian bounced back seen both in the rise of Customer Success Directors as well as the dominance across the Technology sector which made up 44% of the total roles.
This was followed by Financial Services (34 roles), Retail & Travel (16), Housing & NFP (14), Services (12) and Healthcare (10). Many other categories each accounted for just a handful of hires.
- The Services sector stays at a similar level, 12% for Q2 of 2025 vs 13.7% of the total appointments for the same period in 2024
- Financial Services UP at 34% vs 19.2% in 2024 for the same period
- Housing Associations and other NFP UP at 14% vs 2024 10%
- Retail and Travel combined UP to 16% from 9.6% in 2024
- Utilities DOWN to 0.9% from 2024's 6.2% in the customer focussed roles.
